It was not a year for the faint of heart.
There were really high highs and really low lows. I’ve never done anything resembling a year-in-review, but I want the universe to know that I’m keeping count and I’m due for a few calm months. And, if my calculations are right, I’m owed a few.
Here’s what went down.
The final performance of In The Heights on Broadway.
Kept a goal to make it out of the country at least once a year. Ate our way through Italy. Milan! Lake Como!
Visited good friends and family: Austin! Madison! El Paso! Mesilla! Silver City! Ithaca! Chinati!
Celebrated nine years together. And celebrated again.
Some small things changed at work.
Worked with Lady Gaga and won an award for it.
Survived a NYC hurricane and earthquake.
Advil, oh no. (Adrian, you could have just invited us up for your birthday.)
Watched the President interrupt Sunday night TV
Attended Sting’s 60th Birthday Concert (and sat in FRONT of some of the performers)
Readjusted, a bit.
First Yankees game.
Dealt with a big let down, but came back with a Boom Boom Pow.
Achieved a two-year goal of getting Robin Hood on Tumblr.
Could have done without that day.
Hollywood Bowl, Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Toasted NYC at Stonewall on a historic night.
Work featured on the homepage of Google
Cheered on the boys.
Counted four apartments as “home.”
Said hi to MIchelle and a new job.
House hunted and planned to move to Puerto Rico, then pivoted on a dime.
I’m still catching my breath, but I made it. Here’s to 2012.
