I do social media/digital marketing for a poverty-fighting foundation. In my future lives I hope to be a photographer, a travel magazine editor and a professional tourist. I hail from: Palo Alto, Cambridge, Jamaica Plain, Gallup, El Paso, Williamstown, Madrid, Washington DC, Oaxaca, Barcelona & NYC (currently). ME | I LIKE | HIGHS & LOWS | FOTOS |
1. When I was in high school I snuck into the Dallas Cowboys stadium in the middle of the night and ran across the touchdown line.
2. I once drove to Mexico by accident.
3. I wanted to go to NYU because I adored Felicity. I got in. I was also accepted to Williams. They flew me out for an accepted students weekend. On my way home from visiting Williams, Keri Russell walked past me during a layover at Chicago O’Hare. Instantly my maturity level dropped to that of a 5th grader. I remember saying something like, “Hi! OMG you’re Keri Russell. Oh my god, I am the BIGGEST Felicity fan… What happens next season?…Can I have your autograph?” Then I kind of/may have touched her arm, awkward! I took it as a sign that I should attend Williams. So I did.
4. A guy tried to pickpocket me on a bus in Rome, I elbowed him in the gut and he ran away like a little punk.
5. If you define “live” to mean that you have unpacked and stayed in the same place for more than 30 days, I have lived in; palo alto, austin, boston, gallup, el paso, williamstown, madrid, dc, oaxaca, barcelona, hoboken, new york city. That’s an average of a new home every 2.2 years.
6. I met my partner while dancing…sort of. It will be 7 years in April; I think it’s getting serious.
7. One of my favorite college professors once said she wished straight people would call their girlfriend or boyfriend their “partners,” so I just did.
8. I vividly remember two moments that—actually—took my breath away: 1. An ocean sunrise I witnessed solo on a train ride in the south of France-everyone else was fast asleep. 2. Sunrise over the volcanoes at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
9. I hate sunrise.
10. I will be attending my very first World Cup Qualifying match in 5 days.* I expect this day to be life-changing.
11. I have true issues with sleep. In a nutshell, I never want to go to sleep (ever) and when I am sleeping, I never want to wake up.
12. I can only think of one person I would trust to plan something for me. Her name is also Julia.
13. Salad Bowl and scrabble are my social activities of choice.
14. We didn’t have cable until I was a junior is high school.
15. I brought a purse with a playboy bunny to my all-girls catholic high school and was given detention. I fought it and won. I’m a rebel.
16. The craziest-person-I-know/really-good-friend entered a convent last year.
17. I have a serious addiction to Kettle Baked Aged White Cheddar chips and I am considering buying them in bulk here: http://www.kettlefoods.com/our-all-natural-products/baked-potato-chips
18. My all time favorite book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafron.
19. I hate cilantro & unreliable people.
20. My happiest days involve one of five people; elyssa, laura, meilin, zadie or pierce.
21. My most valuable possession is a cabbage patch kid named Lorna who has accompanied me to every location in #4. Har.
22. I don’t have a single good friend who admits to being a Republican.** I heart New York. If you are my friend and you are a Republican, please keep it to yourself ;)
23. I like bad movies, bad music and bad books. Don’t hate.
24. I want to be a photographer.
25. One from the mailbag: “You are a lot stranger than people think.”
